Summary of the position

The Enrollment Specialist position maintains and interacts, almost exclusively through the telephone with prospective clients referred to Veterans Home Care from different agencies or individuals. This position is responsible for pre-qualifying individuals for the VetAssist Program, and initial eligibility for the Aid & Attendance pension benefit.

Essential Functions

  • Manage heavy incoming telephone traffic for referrals to the VetAssist Program.
  • Prequalify all referrals using a specific set of guidelines and the Sales Lead Tool.
  • Document and record all information accurately and in a timely fashion, regarding referrals in customer relationship management database.
  • Explain general requirements necessary for the Aid & Attendance pension and the VetAssist Program.
  • Review and maintain open, held and inactive referral leads assigned to them with the goal to qualify or disqualify lead.
  • Answer general incoming overflow telephone calls to the St. Louis, MO office.
  • Extensive computer and telephone work required.

No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is largely a sedentary role, however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary. This position spends a minimum of 90% of working hours talking on the telephone and working at a computer.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms

There is no travel required for this position.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma with 2 years’ sales or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree; Experience working with the elderly.
