Position: Accounts Payable Specialist

Summary of the position
The Accounts Payable Specialist compiles and maintains accounts payable records.
Essential Functions

- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
- Matches documents to verify appropriate payments per Company policy.
- Distributes signed checks as required.
- Prepares garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
- Answers all vendor inquiries.
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
- Assists financial officers and branch personnel as necessary.
- Prepares cleared checks for storage.
- Assists in monthly closings.
- Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
- Able to post 1,000 – 1,500 invoices per month.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
