KMZU Radio features Veterans Home Care & VA Benefit Advice
Country and news radio station KMZU-100.7, known as “The Farm” which can be heard throughout Missouri, featured Veterans Home Care’s VetAssist Program and tips regarding the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit May 5, 2022.
Veterans Home Care’s Senior Communications Director Janet Jennewein was interviewed and explained how a woman caring for her terminally ill mother in 2002 led to forming Veterans Home Care.
KMZU reports the VetAssist Program Supports Those Who Need It Most
Veterans Home Care’s unique niche is helping aging veterans (and veterans’ widows/widowers) access a VA benefit and personal caregivers so they can live at home more safely and independently. VHC’s flagship VetAssist Program is a service that provides in-home care to qualifying wartime veterans or their spouses with no out-of-pocket costs.

VetAssist Companion for Emergency Response & Virtual Assistance on KMZU News
KMZU Radio also mentioned the VetAssist Companion. As part of the VetAssist Program, seniors receive the latest medical alert system powered by Alexa. The VA Aid and Attendance benefit covers medical alert devices (also known as personal emergency response systems). So the VetAssist Companion, a medical alert system which is pre-programmed and includes voice-activated video calling, is included with no out-of-pocket costs.
According to Jennewein, “This VA benefit isn’t for every veteran but many are eligible and just don’t know about it. We offer a free consultation by calling 888-314-6075 and an online checklist to see if your loved one should apply. Combat duty or overseas service isn’t required. Only the Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA) can determine if someone qualifies for the Aid and Attendance benefit. Yet since 2003, Veterans Home Care has helped thousands of people successfully file their Aid and Attendance claim. We can help you decide if you or your loved one may be eligible.”
