The Mission Continue:

Meet VetAssist's Veteran Employees

Resilience. Self-reliance. Strength. A sense of mission.

Three Veterans at Veterans Home Care share how their time in the Army and Navy shaped who they are, the values they carried with them into civilian life, and the relationships they’ve built along the way. Today, they bring those experiences to their work helping fellow Veterans and their families access the support they need, finding new ways to serve those who have served our country.

Sunny’s Next Chapter of Service

Team player, social butterfly, and Navy Veteran, Sunny brings the commitment and sense of mission he developed during his service to Veterans Home Care. He shares stories of life at sea, a Shawshank-style role in keeping morale up, and why he loves being a Veteran helping veterans.

Angel's Service Through Connection

From Enrollment to Case Management to Assistant Controller, Army Veteran Angel Russell has spent eight years at Veterans Home Care building real connections with the Veterans and families she serves. She shares how her time in the military shaped her approach to work and why she believes that service is often about showing up, listening, and remembering the little things.

Jeremy's Drive to Serve Those Who Served

When Jeremy joined the Navy out of curiosity about submarines, he learned that “everything had to be perfect” and that there was no walking away from a problem. Now seven years into his work at Veterans Home Care, he brings that self-reliance and persistence to helping Veterans secure the benefits they’ve earned.
