How the Interest-Free Loan Works
We deliver home care with no out-of-pocket costs to a Veteran or surviving spouse.
Care Starts Right Away
Instead of waiting for the VA to approve their application, VetAssist clients receive an interest-free loan to pay for in-home care or adult day care starting when their application is submitted.
No Immediate Payments
Although you receive a monthly bill for your contracted home care, you do not need to make a payment until you begin receiving your VA Pension.
VA Approval
When the VA approves the claim, you receive VA funds retroactively from the date your application was filed.
Repay with VA Funds
When the VA sends the lump-sum retroactive payment, those funds are used to repay the loan. This allows us to deliver care with no out-of-pocket costs while waiting for application approval.
